System design the way it breaks in production: lessons, runnable Docker labs and interview problems.

Built for backend engineers in India preparing for senior roles, architecture interviews or production scale.

The Platform

What is Inside

Learn an idea, break it on your own laptop, then explain it the way an interviewer wants.

01
25 notes

Read the idea: System Design Notes

Short reference pages on foundations, building blocks, booking and search, and messaging. Each page ends with what you give up.

02
75 labs

Break it: Docker Labs

Runs on your laptop with Docker Desktop, in Bash or PowerShell. Watch split-brain, pool exhaustion and replication lag happen, with a script that checks every result.

03
26 problems

Defend it: Interview Problems

Full design problems with the tradeoffs an interviewer will push on.

308 lessons

The guided route through all of it: Learning Paths

Three phased paths: System Design + LLD, AI Systems, and DSA Interviews. Every concept backed by tradeoffs and quizzes.

Real Artefacts

Look Inside

No hypothetical hand-waving. Here is the actual level of depth in the lessons, the Docker lab test runners, and the architectural diagrams.

What System Design Actually Is

"The architect is not the person who knows the fanciest venue or the rarest database. The architect is the person who makes the right call for the current constraints, and can clearly explain what they gave up."

[TRADEOFF] Every optimization has a victim: latency vs durability, consistency vs availability.
Lab VerificationRecorded run, excerpt

Lab 00: Container Assertions

== Step 1: is Docker alive?

[OK] Docker answered

== Step 3: run a container from it, with a port

[OK] container answers on http://127.0.0.1:18110

== Step 5: break it. Same port twice

[OK] second container refused: the port is already taken

== Step 7: fix it with a volume

[OK] with a volume: counter continued from 3 to 4 after docker rm

The Desi Architect

About Me

From a Non-CS Background
to Software Architect

I didn't come from a CS background. I figured things out the hard way, failed a bunch, and eventually found my footing. Somewhere along the way, 12 years passed and I'd gone from writing my first loops to architecting systems that millions of people use.

I've worked with some large clients, including in the enterprise and SaaS space, leading teams building distributed systems, AI-powered products, and backend infrastructure that actually holds up under load. The scale taught me a lot. So did the outages.

The Desi Architect is my way of sharing that experience without the fluff. Real system design, real tradeoffs, for developers who are serious about growing.

What I Offer

How I Can Help You Grow

Most people I work with are prepping for system design interviews, building an AI product, or trying to scale something they already shipped. That's where I help.

What People Are Saying

Real feedback from mentees and the YouTube community.

"One of the most valuable career conversations I've had. He didn't give me a generic roadmap. He listened, understood my exact situation, and gave me a clear, practical direction I could act on immediately. The focus on fundamentals first, and knowing WHEN to use something rather than just HOW, completely shifted my thinking."
